What to check before buying townhomes in Toronto
Buying townhomes in Toronto means navigating a market where almost listing as "luxury" or "premium," which makes it genuinely hard to tell what's worth the price tag versus what's just marketing language stretched thin.
Build history is where I'd start. Dunpar Homes has been constructing townhome communities across the GTA for more than 40 years, with over 2,000 homes built and 25-plus established communities to show for it. That kind of track record matters more than a single nice rendering on a sales page.
When looking at townhomes for sales in Toronto, look past the marketing jargon and ask the builder directly about their history, which communities they have completed to date, and what real finishes are used inside the home before deciding.
So, we observed that floor plan diagrams are not the full story for layout quality. Full-size kitchen appliances, an open-concept living and dining area, two full baths (in the lower price points, you have to share a bath with your roommate!), three upstairs bedrooms and direct garage access to the house — these are frankly practical features that make far more difference day to day than any shiny lobby ever could.

Exterior materials are a similar kind of story. Limestone is a choice for accents; character-rich brick is a more overt visual cue, but together these materials stand as an investment in construction that may not succumb to the elements of Toronto's notoriously cruel winters —or the oft-fancier cladding method some builders default to.
The home is important, but no more than the location. One of those is Streetsville, now looking nothing at all like the giant suburban sludge land oozing out, not randomly tossed wherever there might have been land, but built (if you can call it that) on purpose to maximize fast access to transit, schools and shopping.
